Des is the founder and principal consultant of Hunt & Hunt Consulting, a boutique consultancy that is well known for its high-quality project management services and development of practical solutions for local and semi government clients. Des offers to assist clients who want organisational changes in terms of processes, systems, structures, and enhancement of human resource capacities. He creates strategic partnerships with his clients and is an information provider, problem solver, and a change agent that builds his clients' capabilities. His understanding of the public sector assures successful human resources, management, and organisational projects. He works with his clients to build their competencies and improve their organisations. Des' work includes assistance in the recruitment and selection of Chief Executive Officers and senior managers for a range of Victorian and NSW councils. Des can also provide neutral third party expertise to objectively perform services for controversial and/or sensitive projects. An advisor to the Minister for Local Government in 1994, Des was involved in developing a blueprint for the amalgamation of Victorian local councils and the process of compulsory competitive tendering for service providers. Des is also a former CEO of the City of Melbourne, a former Commissioner of the City of Stonnington, and was appointed as the Commissioner and Administrator of the City of Camberwell, following the sacking of the Council some years ago. |
