Newcastle

Hunt & Hunt opened its Newcastle office in 1983.  At the time, we were the first 'outsider' firm to establish an office in Newcastle for over 100 years.  Today, we remain one of only two national firms to have an office in Newcastle.

Our Newcastle office is located in the former Public Works and CIB Buildings on Hunter Street.  The property is owned by the Newcastle Historic Reserve Trust.  Through our occupation and rent, the Trust is able to maintain these two very important buildings, as well as a gallery for emerging artists, a museum, and a wilderness society.  The Trust takes great interest in the protection of these buildings and regards Hunt & Hunt as a green client that is willing to support its goals.

Having been part of the community for nearly 25 years, we know the Newcastle and Hunter region and appreciate the needs of local businesses and industry.  Clients benefit from this local knowledge, as well as from the ease of access and on-the-ground support that we are able to provide.

We provide a broad range of legal services to our Newcastle-based clients, supporting them both locally, nationally and internationally. Our clients include corporations, small to medium business, all levels of government, non–profit and private businesses.

Our local lawyers provide advice and services in the following areas of law:

  • Corporate and Commercial
  • Property
  • Banking and Finance
  • Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution
  • Insurance
  • Workplace Relations
  • Occupational Health and Safety

Hunt & Hunt is proactive in the local business community, contributes financially to charities and has a formal pro-bono program in place.  We proudly support a number of Newcastle/Hunter organisations, through sponsorship, pro-bono advice, committee and board memberships including:
