Bill’s principal areas of expertise are business law and commercial tenancy law, including commercial contracts, franchising, trade practices, superannuation, business structures, alpine property and transport law. He is an accredited specialist in business law and one of only ten accredited specialists in commercial tenancy law. For over 20 years Bill has assisted the largest national transport company in Australia on a wide variety of commercial issues including its contracts with customers, property acquisitions, risk management and compliance with government legislation including the Financial Services Reform Act. Bill is also the lawyer for the Victorian Ski Association, Mt Buller Ratepayers Association and the Hotham Ski Association. Additionally, Bill has acted for a national retailer with 130 stores in Australia and has a knowledge of leasing in all States, providing expert evidence in leasing disputes. He is familiar with the requirements of large-scale commercial property transactions in Victoria and his recent projects include: - advising on the purchase of a large manufacturing facility in Hawthorn (which involved contamination issues)
- acting for the purchaser of the former Cussons Soap site in Richmond
- negotiating development agreements for construction of large scale warehouse facilities with lease back agreements
- advising on the purchase of the Parkview Hotel, St Kilda Road, Melbourne
- sale of a hotel and tourist facility in Merrijig.
