Experience:  

Guy Abel was admitted to the roll of practitioners of the Supreme Court of Tasmania in 1984.

Following his admission Guy has practised in the capacities of Barrister Solicitor and General Counsel seeing him appear on a regular basis as Counsel in the Magistrates' Courts, Supreme Court of Tasmania, Full Court of the Supreme Court of Tasmania, the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, both State and Federal Industrial Relations Commissions, the Resource Management and Planning Appeals Tribunal of Tasmania, the Federal and the Full Courts of the Federal Court of Australia, The Mining Tribunal.

His role as Counsel in the various jurisdictions have and do run in parallel with his provision of corporate business and commercial advice to his clients.

Outside his legal practice, for many years Guy has been involved in sporting administration, advice and governance leading to him acting as General Counsel for the Australian Football League for Tasmania.

During the last 8 years Guy has been retained by an eco tourism corporation which has established eco tourist ventures both in Victoria and New South Wales and is presently pursuing such ventures in New Zealand and other overseas countries. He recently headed that corporation's legal team in respect to negotiations with the well known 'listed' leisure corporation MFS Living & Leisure, the putting together of the ultimate deal and 'signing off' in respect to the sale of its eco tourist ventures in New South Wales and Victoria.
