Nieva’s experience includes acting for general insurers in a broad range of professional indemnity, public and product liability claims and medical negligence actions. She has also had extensive experience in large recovery actions, providing advice and policy interpretation. Specific experience includes: representing an international insurer in the Esso class action arising out of the Longford Gas explosion; acting for a main contractor in the Melbourne Aquarium class action; and acting for an international insurer in relation to recovery proceedings arising out of a major construction project. Nieva acts for all Victorian municipal councils, with the exception of one, in defending liability claims. She has also represented clients at coronial inquests. |
