Experience:  

Binti commenced working with Hunt & Hunt as a solicitor in 2008 as a member of the commercial team.

Binti graduated with first class honours in law from the University of Tasmania in 2002, and was a Judges Associate to Justice Evans in the Supreme Court of Tasmania from 2003 -2004. Before moving to Melbourne, Binti worked as a solicitor at a boutique practice in Hobart, specialising in criminal law and civil litigation. In this position, Binti appeared regularly in the Supreme Court and Magistrate's Court of Tasmania, and was involved in several high profile cases that gained significant media exposure.

Binti moved to Melbourne in 2006 and, before joining Hunt & Hunt, worked as a commercial and lawyer at Trumble Szanto Lawyers in Prahran, where she gained experience in the drafting of retail leases, sale of business agreements; intellectual property licenses; shareholder agreements; loan agreements and wills.

Binti's experience includes resolving disputes through mediation, litigation and arbitration, under the supervision of John Sinisgalli, and she has significant experience handling a range of property and planning transactions.

Binti has played a key role in:

  • Supreme Court proceedings brought by a disgruntled investor against the directors of a company for breaches of the Trade Practices Act and fraud;
  • a Supreme Court trial involving a Part IX application brought by a dissatisfied beneficiary against the executor of a deceased estate;
  • a Trade Practices Law dispute between an importer of stainless steel tactiles and its Australian distributor;
  • a County Court personal injuries claim involving allegations of "assault by poisoning" brought by one neighbor against the other; and
  • a dispute between the owner of valuable intellectual property and the Commonwealth of Australia, involving alleged breaches of a licensing agreement.
