Costa commenced working with Hunt & Hunt in 2007 and is a member of the firm's Employment Group. Prior to joining our firm, Costa held the role of in-house lawyer for the Australian Hotels and Hospitality Association (AHHA), the peak body for members operating Victorian hotels and hospitality venues with a general liquor licence. During his four years in this role Costa provided comprehensive legal services to the AHHA and its members, predominantly in the areas of employment and workplace relations. Costa has played a key role in: - advising on various awards and relevant employment and OH&S legislation and delivering training in these areas;
- attending to unfair dismissal and unlawful termination claims, discrimination disputes and sexual harassment matters;
- representing employers in the Australian Industrial Relations Commission, the Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission and the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal;
- drafting range of workplace agreements and incidental material including policies and manuals; and
- making submissions to government in relation to various legislative changes.
Costa also has experience practising in personal injury and workcover matters. |
