Experience:  

Vera’s main practice areas are banking and finance, property and general commercial law.

Vera acts for a number of lending institutions in relation to both commercial and retail lending. Her experience in commercial lending relates to both corporate and individual lending for various types of loans including purchases, refinances, property developments and construction loans. Her experience extends to the preparation of loan and security documentation (including loan facilities, mortgage based securities, company charges, guarantees, Local Government Act mortgage deeds, bills of sale, authority and set-offs and other ancillary documentation) as well as providing general advice to clients in relation to the structure of the lending transaction reviewing template loan and security documents and drafting documents for senders to comply with banking codes and legislation. Vera has also arranged loans to councils.

Vera's experience in retail lending involves drafting loan and security documentation, arranging settlements, stamp duty and registering securities and generally dealing with high volume transactions.

Vera also regularly acts for public listed companies in relation to the preparation of security documents including loan agreements, equitable mortgage of shares, guarantees, debenture deeds and mortgage based securities.

Vera also has extensive experience in relation to mortgage enforcement matters from issuing notices and commencing proceedings against a defaulting party, obtaining judgment and taking possession of a property to acting in relation to the subsequent sale.

She also has extensive transactional experience in the acquisition and sale of real estate including residential, commercial and strata title property and has acted for companies, governmental bodies and individual clients. Her experience in the property area extends to drafting contracts, the subdivision of domestic and commercial properties, the creation of easements and covenants, licensing agreements and commercial and retail leases.

Vera’s commercial experience includes drafting various commercial documents and advising clients in relation to commercial transactions generally.
