Valuations, rates, land tax, GST, stamp duties and other property taxes and charges | Demonstrated Expertise- BradCorp: In acting for BradCorp, we have been involved in broadacre acquisition from the NSW Department of Housing, private developers and public companies.
- Collier Jardines: The firm advised and acted as counsel in building and construction disputes for Collier Jardines in a $1.5million claim involving Jape Plaza in Darwin.
- RMIT University: Various significant property acquisitions, property planning, leasing and general advice, including acquisition of the Jaynesfield site, development of the technology park and development of the Bourke Street city building campus. In addition, we have provided advice with respect to the CUB student housing project on GST implications for education institutions including, on 22 November 2000 making submissions to the Senate Economics Legislation Committee, both written and in person regarding GST and Education Institutions.
- IOR Friendly Society: Successful restructure and transfer of retirement villages and hostels.
- Local councils: In South Australia, we act for ten local councils on workplace relations issues, such as drafting employment law contracts and representation at the Industrial Tribunal, advising on commercial infrastructure projects, drafting leases and contracts, outsourcing local government contracts, and conveyancing for Council’s land division and sales.
- Tucker Seabrook Australia/Grosvenor International Joint Venture: This project involved co-ownership arrangements, co-security for borrowings, development and management agreement, building contract for design and construct for warehouse/office use based on AS4300.
- AVJennings Limited: We have advised AVJennings on all aspects of acquisitions, developments and sales, joint venture arrangements. One of our partners has been a primary legal supplier to all projects, including all major NSW projects since 1990, including corporate premises in Norwest Business Park.
- In Brisbane, we act for a range of clients including Bloomberg Incorporation Limited, Devine Limited, Doval Constructions Pty Ltd, Ace Property Holdings, Bentleigh Developments and Hotchkin Group Holdings.
- Metropolitan Ambulance Service: We have advised on REIV lease and development for a 'MAS specific lease for landlords. We have also advising MAS on its liability for rates and land tax on its leased properties and how to best avoid any potential liability Rates.
- Barossa Pipeline Project: Negotiating and documenting the terms of agreements between Council and a private developer for the construction of a pipeline to provide water within the area of Councils to vignerons and horticulturalists and advising Councils with regards to enforcing the terms of the same for The Barossa Council.
- Wesfarmers-Dalgety: We handled the site re-development, sale and lease-back of stock and station agencies in rural South Australia.
