Melbourne Clerkships

A seasonal clerkship at Hunt & Hunt lets you explore a broad spectrum of legal work before you decide on your area of specialisation. Hunt & Hunt offers clerkship positions in the Melbourne office, at this time, we do not offer clerkships in our other offices.

Melbourne Graduate Program

Our Melbourne graduate program runs for 12 months from March each year.  The program consist of 3 four month rotations. During this time graduates will complete the College of Law Practical Legal Training course and be exposed to each of our core practice areas. To help ensure you meet the required competencies for admission to practice, you’ll take on matter-related work and receive in-house training and mentoring.

Students who participate in our seasonal clerkship pool are prioritised for our graduate program.  If additional places are available, positions will be advertised following the release of placements in accordance with the LIV offers.

Sydney Graduate Program

Hunt & Hunt offers graduate positions in its Sydney (CBD and North Ryde) and in our Griffith offices. We’re looking for bright and motivated law students in their final year of study, with a solid academic record and varied interests outside academic life.

Throughout the year the Sydney office will accept your application, resume and current transcripts.  You can forward these to [email protected].  

If you are successful in obtaining a graduate role in our Sydney offices, you’ll be placed in one of our four core practice areas – Litigation, Commercial, Environment and Planning, or Property. Working in close-knit teams you will have hands-on involvement in meaningful work.

You’ll also be given the opportunity to manage your own matters under close supervision and mentoring.

To complement on-the-job learning, we support our graduates with a comprehensive and structured professional development program.

Your development

As a graduate, you’ll be assigned a senior lawyer who will act as a mentor and assist with your workflow. A junior lawyer will also be assigned as your buddy to give you guidance and support. A dedicated member of our people and culture team will also be there to guide you through the process. In addition to completing Practical Legal Training through the College of Law, we’ll provide you with specialised training for all our practice areas, as well as time management and communication skills to help you excel in an office environment.

Last but by no means least – graduates are encouraged to immerse themselves to our great culture and have fun!
