Hunt & Hunt expands banking & finance expertise

On April 2, national firm Hunt & Hunt appointed a new Partner Richard Williams to its Melbourne office.

Williams brings with him 6 staff, adding extra depth to a strong Banking & Finance practice at Hunt & Hunt.

For over 25 years, Williams has acted for some of Australia’s leading banks and financiers with particular emphasis on consumer credit, compliance and government relations. With his intimate industry knowledge and extensive experience, Williams will provide advice to clients on lending, recoveries, legislative change, compliance and general corporate matters. He has particular expertise in the National Credit Code, privacy law, anti-money laundering, finance broking and other legislation affecting financial institutions.

“Richard is a great fit for our team and brings a wealth of experience that I know our clients will value and benefit from” said Victoria Managing Partner, David Thompson.

Williams was a partner at MacGillivrays Solicitors and responsible for managing its Melbourne office, which ceased operation in April as the result of a merger with Gadens Queensland.

“It is an exciting time for me to join the firm. I am looking forward to servicing our clients alongside a high-calibre team at Hunt & Hunt with quality expertise in this space” said Williams.
