Hunt & Hunt commences Malaysia Group Practice

Hunt & Hunt Victoria is pleased to announce the establishment of a Malaysia Group Practice led by Gilbert Chai.

Gilbert joins Hunt & Hunt’s Melbourne office as a Special Counsel to lead the practice.  He has extensive experience in property and development and commercial and corporate law, and was Managing Partner of Malaysian firm Ngan, Arifah & Chai based in Kuala Lumpur before returning to Australia in 2019.

Managing Principal Hunt & Hunt Victoria Tony Raunic said, “Gilbert joining Hunt & Hunt will allow us to continue to expand the services we deliver for our clients who work across the Malaysian and Australian markets.”

“His extensive legal experience in both Malaysia and Australia will be invaluable to clients seeking to invest and conduct business in Australia and Malaysia.”

The establishment of a bespoke Malaysia Practice follows Hunt & Hunt’s highly regarded China Practice and further cements the firm’s focus to deliver high-standard legal services with an international focus. Complimenting this is Hunt & Hunt’s role as the only Australian member of Interlaw, an independent global network of high quality, commercial law firms.

“Through these networks, we offer our clients more than just legal advice.  We provide a seamless, integrated, commercially focussed service wherever they choose to do business,” Tony said.

“By having specialised geographic practice groups with significant local experience and connections, we can offer our clients the opportunity to develop trade and investment opportunities and market entry strategies that best suit their overall business needs.”

Gilbert commences with Hunt & Hunt in the Melbourne office on April 19.

“The addition of Gilbert Chai and our Malaysia Practice are both consistent with our Genuine People, Practical Solutions ethos, and is the next step in this exciting period of growth for Hunt & Hunt,’ said Tony.
