Karl has seven years’ experience as an insurance lawyer specialising in statutory classes of insurance, including workers compensation.
Karl joined Hunt & Hunt in July 2018, working as a Senior Associate alongside Partner, Danny Khoshoba.
As a workers’ compensation specialist, Karl’s expertise includes acting in matters involving physical and psychological injuries, work injury damages, section 151Z recoveries, industrial deafness claims, fraud matters and fatality/catastrophic injury claims.
Karl has extensive experience in the conduct of high volume litigation and the provision of advice in litigated and non-litigated common law and commission matters.
Karl’s experience includes advising and representing employers, self-insurers, NSW workers’ compensation managed fund scheme agents, treasury managed fund agents and the Workers’ Compensation Nominal Insurer (icare).
Karl regularly appears for clients in the NSW Workers Compensation Commission, District Court and Supreme Court.
Karl has successfully defended matters before the NSW Court of Appeal.
Karl has twice been seconded to Fire & Rescue NSW where he worked as a workers’ compensation advisor in the Health and Safety team.
Karl has provided training and also undertaken file reviews for clients.
