Personal Experience
Peggy’s experience and practice lies in workers compensation, personal injuries and general, civil and commercial litigation, as a Partner in Hunt & Hunt’s Darwin office.
Peggy manages workers compensation cases for major insurance clients, including the Northern Territory Government, QBE Insurance, GIO, Nominal Insurer and CGU Insurance. She has advised both government and institutional clients in relation to all aspects of the Return to Work Act (NT). This includes the Act’s impact on the insurer’s and employer’s management of employment issues, human resources matters, and rehabilitation options in workers compensation claims.
She is also very experienced in managing litigation matters for insurance companies and provides high level legal advice in a prompt and cost-effective manner.
Peggy has a practice in advice and representation to parties with claims and defences under the Personal Injury (Liability and Damages) Act (NT).
Peggy is also involved in providing general commercial advice in relation to disputes and recoveries under the Construction Contract (Security for Payments) Act in the Northern Territory.
Peggy has advised in relation to contracts of sale and leases in the Northern Territory, acts on behalf of local businesses and companies in relation to commercial disputes, and acts in recovery proceedings and related litigation arising from these proceedings.
Peggy is a long-time volunteer with the Top End Women Legal Service.
