Shelley Nave is a results-driven lawyer with more than twenty years of post-admission experience and is the leader of our Banking & Finance Team. Shelley is recognised for her expertise in banking and financial services and regulatory compliance, and excels at delivering pragmatic and insightful legal advice.
While at university, Shelley was awarded the NAB Prize and the Mallesons Stephen Jaques Prize for achieving the best result in Australian Banking Law and was the recipient of the Australian Banking Industry Ombudsman scholarship.
Shelley commenced her legal career at Mallesons Stephen Jaques (now King & Wood Mallesons) and, since then, worked as in-house counsel at several banks (NAB, Bendigo and Adelaide Bank, and Beyond Bank Australia) and a fintech start-up, and spent six years at the Financial Ombudsman Service (now AFCA).
