Troy leads the Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution team. With more than twenty years’ experience, he has had exposure to the full spectrum of commercial disputes, from high-profile litigation to the representation of clients in specialised forums.
Troy is well known for providing his clients with commercially sound practical solutions, acting for publicly listed and private companies in the property, commercial, retail and finance sectors. He has a particular interest in corporate and personal insolvency, acting both for and against insolvency practitioners.
Troy advises clients on consumer protection provisions and the rights and obligations under the Competition and Consumer Act, appearing in actions concerning corrective advertising, restrictive covenants in employment contracts, misleading and deceptive conduct and unconscionable conduct.
He is particularly sought after for his abilities in property development matters, having decades of experience representing clients resolve their disputes concerning easements, removal of caveats and breach of contract. Troy’s extensive body corporate client base has him regularly advising bodies corporate on their dealings with body corporate managers, caretaking and letting agreements, by-law compliance and lot entitlement adjustments.
Defamation, intellectual property, town planning, security documentation and the litigation and resolution of directors’, shareholders’ and partnership disputes are but a few of the areas in which Troy has considerable experience.
Troy presents regularly to industry bodies and is highly regarded for his work in assisting clients navigate their disputes with fellow partners and shareholders, or holding directors to account for any breaches of duty.
