Suncorp has announced this week it is purchasing MTA Insurance, subject to APRA approval.
It is reported that the proposed acquisition will allow Suncorp to significantly expand the suite of products it can offer customers through motor dealers to include consumer credit insurance and other specialist products.
Suncorp has stated that the motor dealer distribution channel is a priority for growth sector for the insurer. Likely this will bring some opportunities for dealers in terms of negotiations on terms, rates and commissions with current insurer partners or if looking at changing insurer arrangements.
