Personal Experience

Hasti leads our Planning and Environment team in NSW. She is well regarded as an expert and brings her clients extensive experience in planning and environmental law covering development, compliance, planning appeals, compulsory acquisition and contamination.

Hasti has over 20 years of experience in assisting government agencies,including telecommunication providers, in delivering major infrastructure projects.

Hasti is well experienced in the life-cycle of a major project (road, rail, telecommunications and electricity) and has experience advising government clients with respect to permissibility and approval pathways through to land requirements, access and compliance.

Hasti acts for developers in an advisorycapacity and regularly appears in planningappeals before the Courts as well as operators in the waste and recycling industry on compliance issues relating to the law and contamination.

In addition to her advisory and advocacy skills, Hasti has well rounded experience in high end as well as transactional matters relating to property and environmental planning. This includes drafting complex agreements, providing advice on bilateral agreements under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (Cth), developer deeds, planning agreements and transport infrastructure agreements.

Hasti is experienced in providing advice to clients with respect to Native Title claims, Aboriginal Land Rights and Aboriginal Cultural Heritage, including the required consultation process.

Hasti’s experience as an in-house legal counsel with a government agency has provided her with specialist knowledge and invaluable skills in managing competing political, administrative and social agendas while at the same time ensuring they are delivered.

Hasti regularly provides bespoke workshops for clients regarding development in planning and environment sphere including natural resources, bio-diversity and renewable energy.
