Sarah is a Partner of the Workplace Relations practice at Hunt & Hunt Lawyers and is dedicated to achieving results in all employment and industrial relations matters. Sarah collaborates closely with clients from both the public and private sectors, and across various industries from not for profits to small business and publicly listed companies.

Sarah’s legal practice encompasses the full spectrum of the employment journey, from recruitment and engagement to post-termination matters and more. She possesses a specialised skill set in handling employment and industrial-related disputes and litigation in the Fair Work Commission, Courts and Tribunals, including cases involving discrimination, sexual harassment, grievance management, and workplace investigations.

Sarah takes great pride in being a trusted consultant to her key clients. She invests time in understanding her clients and their businesses, enabling her to deliver personalised, strategic counsel.

A founding partner of Cappello Rowe Lawyers, Sarah joined Hunt & Hunt in 2020 when the firms merged.

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating employment contracts for both employees and employers.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant employment laws, awards and regulations, such as minimum wage, working hours, and leave entitlements.

Workplace Policies:

  • Advising clients on the development and implementation of workplace policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring that policies align with Australian labour laws, including anti-discrimination and workplace health and safety regulations.

Unfair Dismissal & General Protection Claims:

  • Representing clients, including both employers and employees in unfair dismissal claims and general protection.
  • Advising employers on lawful termination processes to mitigate unfair dismissal claims.

Discrimination and Harassment:

  • Handling cases related to workplace discrimination, including age, gender, race, and disability discrimination.
  • Assisting clients in addressing sexual harassment complaints and ensuring compliance with anti-discrimination laws.

Workplace Investigations:

  • Conducting internal investigations into workplace misconduct, including allegations of harassment, bullying, or fraud.
  • Providing guidance on the appropriate resolution of workplace issues.

Industrial Relations:

  • Negotiating enterprise agreements and collective bargaining agreements on behalf of employers and employee groups.
  • Resolving disputes related to industrial action, such as strikes or lockouts.

Redundancy and Restructuring:

  • Advising companies on lawful redundancy processes, including consultation with affected employees and unions.
  • Ensuring compliance with redundancy pay obligations under the Fair Work Act.

Work Health & Safety (WHS):

  • Assisting employers with WHS compliance, risk assessment, and accident investigations.
  • Defending clients in WHS prosecutions and providing legal guidance on improving workplace safety.

Training and Compliance:

  • Providing training sessions to employers and employees on workplace laws and regulations.
  • Helping companies stay updated with evolving employment laws.

Mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution:

  • Facilitating mediation and negotiation between parties to resolve employment disputes without litigation.
  • Drafting settlement agreements to formalise resolutions.
