Personal Experience
Sharon is a Partner in our Family Law team in our Sydney City and North Ryde offices.
Sharon has been admitted to the Supreme Court of NSW and the High Court of Australia since 2003 and has practiced exclusively in family law for the majority of that time. Sharon leads our family law team in New South Wales.
Sharon is an accredited arbitrator and nationally accredited mediator and family dispute resolution practitioner. She has achieved success for her clients in resolving matters utilising alternative dispute resolution processes. Sharon and her team are experienced in all aspects of family law, including parenting and property matters. Wherever possible, Sharon and her team assist clients to resolve family law matters outside of court.
In the event that Court is necessary, Sharon has extensive experience in advocacy in various courts and focusses on achieving the best outcomes for her clients. She has particular expertise in financial matters involving complex structures such as trusts, companies and partnerships. Sharon has appeared in family law matters in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia at all stages of proceedings, including at the appellate level.
Sharon joined Hunt & Hunt in 2023 after running a successful practice for 13 years.
Matters
Examples of Sharon’s work include:
- Acting on behalf of separated parties in Federal Circuit and Family Court proceedings in relation to parenting and property matters.
- Acting in complex financial matters, including those involving third parties.
- Successfully mediating parenting and property disputes so that court proceedings can be avoided, or where disputes are already in court, so that the dispute can be brought to a resolution without the need for a trial.
- Undertaking advocacy in urgent court matters where there is a risk of harm to children.
- Acting in complex parenting matters involving high conflict, mental health disorders and substance abuse.
