Personal Experience

Joey joined Hunt & Hunt in 2020 and is an integral member of the litigation and dispute resolution and employment law teams at Hunt & Hunt.

Joey is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, the High Court of Australia, and the Federal Court of Australia, with degrees in Law and Commerce and frequently appears in all Court jurisdictions and tribunals. Joey has a wide range of clients including individuals, public and private companies and his diverse experience and demonstrated strong technical, advocacy and negotiation skills allows him to achieve excellent outcomes for his clients. Joey prides himself on providing practical legal services to his clients in the most effective and efficient manner.

Prior to joining Hunt & Hunt, Joey acted for major insurers and self-insurers specialising in defendant insurance public liability, home warranty, property damage claims and recovery matters.

Joey’s work ethic and contribution to mentoring his colleagues at Hunt & Hunt has proven to be invaluable.

Outside of law, Joey is a proud husband and father, and his hobbies include spending time with his young family, as well as watching a variety of sports including Soccer, Rugby League and Cricket.

Examples of Joey’s work include:

  • Acting for both employers and employees in Fair Work Commission which includes appearing for and successfully negotiating favourable outcomes for clients (both employers and employees) at conciliation conferences and mediations.
  • Acting for both employers and employees in respect of employment disputes regarding employment restraints, and where necessary, negotiating favourable outcomes with respect to restraints.
  • Advising on modern award interpretations, and preparing and advising on various employment contracts, commission, and bonus agreements as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Appearing for a trustee in a contested hearing in the Supreme Court of NSW and successfully obtaining orders for an increase of the trustee’s remuneration.
  • Acting for both directors and shareholders in respect of company disputes, including obtaining the appropriate relief from the Courts.
  • Appearing for and successfully defending numerous insureds on behalf of their insurers in contested hearings in the Local Court involving motor vehicle property damage disputes.
  • Acting for clients in various civil matters including but not limited to debt recovery, contractual disputes, leasing disputes, construction disputes and negligence claims.
